  • How are pecans harvested?
    Large orchards use mechanical shakers to harvest pecans. The shakers grab the tree trunk and shake the pecans to the ground, where they are then collected by a harvester.
  • How are pecans stored?
    Pecans can be stored in the pantry, refrigerator, or freezer: In-shell pecans: Can be stored in the pantry for up to four months, in the refrigerator for up to 18 months, or in the freezer for about three years Shelled pecan halves: Can be stored in the pantry for up to two months, in the refrigerator for up to nine months, or in the freezer for about two to three years
  • When does pecan season begin?
    Pecan harvest typically begins around the end of September or early October, depending on previous weather conditions and the development stage of the pecans.
  • What types of pecans do we harvest?
    We harvest Desirables, Pawnee, Sumner and Caddo
